SIR – I have, during a period of days, wanted to catch a number 37 Diamond Bus Company service, once in the evening to the hospital and twice on a Saturday to town. On all three occasions it did not come. I approached an employee of Diamond in the bus station to enquire what the problems were only to receive utter cheek from him. If this service is so poor and employees so rude, then please bring back the First service.

I made a point of asking several people at two different stops if they had experienced bad service and at least six said “It’s awful”. As this service calls at the hospital, non-service means missed appointments or patients left without visitors. If it is the council who approves this company’s contract then not only should they follow up complaints but consider this when renewing it.
