SIR – What a pleasure it was to join the Mayor of Worcester at the very well attended and delightfully conducted annual meeting of Worcestershire Lifestyles, at the Meeting House, Berkeley’s Court, the Foregate, Worcester.
An organisation heavily supported by volunteers to give practical assistance to supporting the choice for disabled people, the success of such effort can be judged by the numbers of disabled people who have found worthwhile meaning to life, overcoming their disabilities and discovering their hidden talents. Some have gained university degrees, made possible by the help from Lifestyles.
Many have the IT skills which are the envy of many of us, they rebuild electronic equipment, particularly computers – thus completing the recycling by taking surplus/unwanted equipment, servicing and upgrading it, benefiting the end users purchasing through their shop.
Congratulations to all concerned. I know Tony Whitcher would welcome contact from donors of equipment that has become surplus to requirements and which would enable him to continue the good work – and to anyone who has a few spare hours, volunteers are always welcome.
JOHN TIDMARSH,
District Councillor
Stoke Prior Ward, Bromsgrove District Council.
