SIR – Having just been ripped off to the tune of £2.10 for one hour’s parking in Worcester city centre I’ve made an early new year’s resolution – never to shop in Worcester again.

I’ll be sure to: a) visit more out-of-town shopping centres and, b) make more use of the internet for my shopping in future.

If this contributes to the death of town and city shopping then the blame can be laid fairly and squarely at the door of the private car park operators and the councils who licence their operations.

RICHARD SIMS, Charlton, Worcs.
