SIR – IT is appalling that fly-by-night outfits appear to be setting up so-called Lapland-style theme parks in a cynical ploy to hoodwink young families in order to make obscene profits.
As responsible proprietors of an established Christmas attraction, we at Spetchley Gardens Family Christmas Illuminated Walk are proud of our record. If you have not been to see one of England’s most evocative gardens lit up by thousands of lamps and visual effects, turning it into an enchanted fairyland, then you know somebody who has.
The outfit behind the failed Lapland-style muddy fields exploited their customers charging £25-£30 for a visit to supposed snowy ‘winter wonderland’ scenes with icicles.
Spetchley Park is charging a mere £6.50 for entry to the park to view our illuminations. You get what it says in the name.
