SIR – Regarding S Southwick (Letter, November 29), I was unaware the university had a cycle scheme.
Considering the number of pavement-parked cars, it seems few take it up.
As regards poor driving, many are seen reversing on private drives. A bill of £520 for my demolished wall bears testimony to this.
And before the usual adage comes, yes it was a student and she paid.
The university has a large car park, but with charges of, I believe, £1.50 per day.
If this was waived perhaps we might see some relief in the vicinity.
Perhaps the woman I saw on her mobility transport and the mums with pushchairs would be able to walk on the paths again instead of the roads.
I shall not hold my breath. I don’t think the university or the authorities are bothered in the least. The locals are way down the list of priorities.
BERNARD GOODE, Worcester.
