SIR – Every few days someone in leafy Claines or Hallow writes in to the Worcester News with yet another half-baked excuse to dump all the new development and road building around Worcester as far away from them as possible.
Naturally, they want their rural privileges without wishing to lose any of the benefits of being in Worcester but life isn’t that easy any more, folks.
In an ideal world and an ideal Worcester perhaps none of us would be inconvenienced by our mad politicians’ obsession with turning the south end of Worcester into something akin to Hong Kong crossed with Mexico City.
But until we live in that ideal world I will go on demanding that the very selfish and very cosseted folk on the northern outskirts of the city take a lot more of the stresses and strains of being part of Worcester.
JIM EVANS, Worcester.
