SIR – The more I surf the internet as a well-past-60 person, the more I resent being forced into a system that is dictated to by young computer designers.

Unless you follow the systems and protocols laid down things simply will not work. There is no room at all for a human, perhaps eccentric or erratic response.

It’s an e-world which increasingly threatens us and our deep-held views about the critical value of privacy. Our lives will more and more be on permanent record, there for any official to view. As for trying to opt out, forget it.

Worcester.
