SIR – While I am sure the editor of the Worcester News is flattered by the comments made by Christine Wild. They are mischievous and politically-motivated and deserve a response If Coun Wild was really concerned about the issue then she would have attended the Malvern Town Council meeting when the issue of balanced reporting was discussed.
She did not, and missed a very good discussion which came to a sensible conclusion based on a range of information and views The key concern of a large number of Malvern town councillors is simply that they would like a reasonable amount of reporting of what is actually debated, discussed and agreed, to balance any articles written in advance of meetings which are based solely on background papers and predict what we might decide. This would be helpful to the people of Malvern whom we serve.
It is quite wrong to say the purpose of the original motion was to limit discussion – we welcome members of the public and press, including those from the Worcester News, to our meetings.
COUN PAUL TUTHILL,
Vice-chairman Malvern Town Council.
