SIR – If you care about your local taxes and how our so-called civil servants spend our cash, you could do no better than visit taxpayersalliance.com.
No one ever gets blamed, less likely penalised for their abysmal failures.
The flood of unelected quangos means that there are hundreds of thousands of well-paid and guaranteed pensioned people who produce costly conferences, glossy books, leaflets and pamphlets and also absolutely splendid buffet food – as I know too well.
To my shame, I attended many of these events. But at least I now know what does go on.
Too many of us simply do not.
