SIR – A while ago you were kind enough to print my letter about the proposed bus lane.

Given the current state of the economy it seems a little worrying that this scheme continues, especially as in excess of £77,000 has been spent already. Consultation over the next section is about to start. Can we double this figure?

Those of us worse effected – lower Newtown Road – have been invited to County Hall to review the revised drawings, although it was also said that there would be no further public consultation.

Perhaps a readers’ competition? Ideas for a better use of what is our money.

PETER BAILEY,

Worcester.
