SIR – They looked smart.
They were proud, these exservice men, cadets, representatives of the Army, Royal Navy and more as they marched through Pershore town to Pershore Abbey. Then, after the service they marched though Pershore again with pride.
They turned out for the men we lost, who gave us the today we have.
The look on the face of those who marched told an untold story of the hurt they feel for those who they lost, yet the pride of being able to show the respect.
I took a video of the march. I was so very disappointed to see Pershore High Street virtually empty of people to applaud the parade and to show respect for those who died. There were a few close to the abbey who did do just that, but only a very few. Yes, it was a cold day, but that didn’t bother the ex-servicemen and cadets.
MRS L RIMMELL, Pershore.
