SIR – Jack Blanchard’s article on the dual role of Worcestershire’s top highways chief John Hobbs seems beyond belief. How can he go to Kent two days a week with them paying while he is there?
It wouldn’t be so bad if all our highways were in immaculate condition (which is far from the case).
I see road markings everywhere that never seem to materialise into repaired highways.
Either Mr Hobbs has hitherto not been fully occupied, or how can he have time to also work for another authority two days a week?
The council apparently is looking to save millions with each department doing their share.
Could this be part of the answer?
P PEGLER,
Worcester.
