SIR – It was very good to see on Sir Trevor MacDonald’s Tonight programme that a referendum organised by the programme in part of Luton gave a resounding thumbs down to the EU.
Sixty-three per cent of the voters said no to the EU reform treaty and only 27 per cent said yes. Fiftyfour per cent want to get out of the EU altogether and only 35 per cent want to stay.
However, as we know the politicians in Westminster are determined that we do not have a say in the matter and they continue in their headlong rush to further integration.
Fortunately next June we will have the opportunity to show our feelings in the EU elections when we have the opportunity to vote for MEPs.
This is the chance to vote for those parties, primarily UKIP, which actually represent public opinion.
