SIR – It’s perhaps 18 months since the county council redesigned and rebuilt the junction at the bottom of Bransford Road and Malvern Road at a cost of £50,000.

This is the junction that has no wheelchair access at any point and a pedestrian refuge/keep left bollard at the same site as a bus stop.

Now somebody else, I presume Sainsbury’s, is starting all over again and digging up the junction.

Surely the council had previous planning permission from Sainsbury’s or could have put in a stipulation about the junction before they wasted taxpayers’ money?
