SIR – I’m still waiting for an apology from our members of parliament and Mr Bushill-Matthews MEP for waging a campaign to convince the public that the European Union had nothing to do with the closures of our post offices, or the setting up of regions of the European Union in place of our counties. They knew all along they were spreading false information.

Now they have the cheek to trumpet they are fighting the closures. I know politicians are twofaced.

But, they are now going past a joke with the fire service regional set-up if they really believe it will be better to service Worcester from away.

Why not outsource the nine regional command centres to India. That will save the whole cost and the unused buildings here can still be sold.

This would cancel out the fire service charge on my council tax.

S W CLAYTON, Worcester.
