SIR – Regarding your news comment on August 28, it is marvellous news for Brian Pritchard and thousands across the country who suffer from muscular degeneration (AMD) in its aggressive wet form, which counts for 90 per cent of adult blindness.

I have a relation who also suffers from this problem and until now was given little hope.

Now the National Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has reversed its negative decision for a more commonsense one.

With treatment now being supplied on the NHS. Let us hope the Worcestershire Primary Care Trust will see sense too.

PHIL PEGLER, Worcester.
