SIR – The front page subheadline (August 31) was music to my ears, although I can well imagine the response to the headline of ‘No More Cars’ by our carwedded population.
It is a radical approach that has been long awaited, and it is only a radical approach that will make Worcester city centre become a pleasant, safe, and green place to easily access.
So long as city and county councillors make halfhearted decisions we will have a half-hearted muddle of bus lanes running out, cycle tracks disappearing, car users being frustrated and congestion making everyone late and stressed.
(It’s the numbers of cars causing the congestion which makes the buses late!) The metaphor of the surgeon’s knife comes appropriately to mind.
I look forward to seeing the plans and hope that they will soon be approved.
SUE ADENEY,
Hanley Castle (car owner who commutes to Worcester by bus).
