SIR – Why am I not surprised? It has now been proved that we were correct in our objection to the closing of our Worcester fire call centre.

But “they” knew better than we did!

But it has now been proven that it will cost not their estimated £100 million but £868 million!

And I expect before it is up and running, it will be very many more millions.

Why on earth do these so called ‘experts’ need to consult management consultants and PR staff at a cost of £278 million? Also spend £400 million on replacement buildings.

This is an estimated total of £1,546 million. And it is doubtful if it will end there.
