Dear Editor,
It is quite simply shocking to read that the offshore company that owns the site of the caravan park at the Ketch are evicting those with caravans there.
The park has been a permanent part of the Worcester ‘scene’ for decades, viewed as we visit the Ketch pub or as we cross Carrington Bridge.
And the people who own or occupy the vans ...from all across the UK...have become welcomed visitors and ‘surrogate’ citizens of our Faithful city.
They also put up with the road widening works happily whilst still enjoying the river.
Is it purely coincidence that now those road widening works are completed the owners of the site seem to want to cash in? Whilst treating those who have spent happy times there with contempt.
The ‘News’ is absolutely right to highlight and pursue this..
But all of us who love and live in Worcester should stand up for our adopted citizens in this and campaign alongside the ‘News’ to get justice and fairness for people who come here because they love our city and ourselves .
They deserve our support.
