Dear Editor
It’s a hopeful sign that all the political parties are in general agreement about curbing anti-social behaviour, which means educating individuals to respect others and the society that binds us together. Some may wonder whether “the horse has bolted”.
For a start we might try to educate the knuckleheads who pick up food and drink from fast food outlets, consume some and then chuck the remains and the packaging out of the car window.
Then we might move on to those abusing Nitrous Oxide for kicks in Evesham. One day, in one place locally, I picked up 264 capsules dumped on the side of the road, and previously had found three commercial-size canisters of N2O dumped in the same way.
Meanwhile, when the Council is asked to provide just one litter bin at the junction of five popular walking routes, we’re told it’s not necessary.
Those volunteers who pick up litter to try to keep our communities cleaner don’t agree.
