In a special assembly this week pupils from RGS Springfield proudly presented a cheque to the Grace Kelly Charitable Cancer Trust for £3,000 following extraordinary fundraising efforts by the School’s Parents Association.
The RGS Springfield Parents Association held a fundraising charity ball which raised an incredible £3,000 for the Grace Kelly Charitable Cancer Trust.
The funds raised will help to support the Grace Kelly Charity Trust’s work which includes funding research, educating people about childhood cancer and providing financial, practical, and emotional support to local families.
In the presentation assembly Coralie Hudson from the Grace Kelly Charitable Cancer Trust spoke to pupils about the story behind the charity and the important work that the charity does to support local families before the pupils and Mrs Laura Brown, headmistress of RGS Springfield, presented the cheque.
At RGS Springfield we are always delighted to work with charities to help our pupils understand the difference that fundraising and charity events can make to the lives of others or supporting those who may need help.
Our school council help choose the charities, with a model of one local, one national and one international.
We have worked with Grace Kelly Charitable Cancer Trust before and are delighted to support them again.
RGS Springfield was grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this worthy cause and is proud of the efforts of its Parents Association and the generosity of its community.
The donation is part of the school’s commitment to foster a culture of social responsibility among its pupils and parents.
