Sir - Many thanks to Pete McNally for alerting me to the existence of a new socialist party.
But the main political parties are not troubled by the existence of such small parties because psephologists have known for a long time that most voters prefer to vote for large established parties.
What I seek is a mainstream party that promises to put British people's needs and wishes first over issues like Iraq, the EU and immigration. Surely that is not too much to expect if we live in a democracy?
Jim Evans, Worcester.
