Sir - Regarding the possibility of concessionary bus fares possibly being withdrawn, can someone please explain why the State should pay for someone who lives in Malvern to go to school in Worcester, when there are perfectly acceptable schools in Malvern?
Presumably the answer would be that the parents wish to send the child to a particular faith school. If this is the only reason, then I am fundamentally opposed to any concession on fares whatsoever being offered.
Public funding should only be available for education - not indoctrination.
Kathryn Phillips, Droitwich.
