SIR - We've heard a lot recently about how horrified our MPs are that the 10p tax allowance has been scrapped. What one has to wonder is, however, where have they been for the last 12 months, asleep?
The announcement about this was made at the time of the 2007 Budget, so why did they not object then, instead of waiting until the 11th hour? Now they know it is too late to do much about this injustice, they are shedding crocodile tears for the low paid, who are going to be even worse off under this so-called Labour government.
A LAIDLER Worcester.
