SIR - I hear a national daily newspaper is reporting that Birmingham wants another 100,000 immigrants to move there to boost the city's economy and that Peter Luff feels we need more immigrants to work on our local farms.
There is a growing divide in our society between the interests of business people, who want plentiful cheap labour, and the rest of us who have to foot the bill for the extra housing, education and health provision required for all these extra people coming to this country.
Naturally, a Tory wants cheap labour, and never mind the rest of us, but where does New Labour stand on this important issue?
