SIR - This Sunday's BBC Politics Show featured local issues in Worcestershire that were influencing the forthcoming local council elections. Mike Foster proclaimed that the burning issue' in Worcester was that weekly black bin collections including for food were reintroduced.
Unfortunately, what Mike failed to say was that this local Labour Party proposal had been fully costed and implementation would have no adverse effect on either the reduction of other services or an increase in local taxes to pay for it.
Fortnightly bin collections are now a reality and I have no problem with the system. This proposal appears to be the main plank of the local Labour Party local election manifesto and I await the results with interest to see whether it is the key local issue of the election.
PETER BURGESS, Worcester.
