SIR - I think it is unfair of Philip Bushill-Matthews MEP to criticise other people's letters when he should apologise to readers for peddling the myth that the European Union had nothing to do with the closing of post offices and the merging of counties into regions of Europe.
Being a Member of the European Parliament he should know these facts. Remember he wrote it was a "bizarre fantasy" to even think it was anything to do with the European Union. I also gave the address in this paper where he could get the EU booklets explaining how our counties would be merged into 12 regions of Europe.
We had enough of the misrepresentation of facts from Ted Heath and it's time to put a stop to them.
So come on, Mr Bushill Matthews, anyone can get the booklets for each of the 12 regions and find out the truth - so let's see an apology in your next letter.
