SIR - After reading a recent front page article and the way the NHS has been portrayed I felt I must write to your paper.
In the past four years, I have had a triple heart bypass from which I am fully recovered, but have now been diagnosed with bladder cancer.
My heart bypass operation was done within two weeks of being told I needed it. The treatment I have received for my bladder tumour has been prompt and excellent.
I would like to thank my GP and all the staff at the four NHS trust hospitals where I have received treatment. The NHS is not all doom and gloom C THOMAS, Kempsey.
