SIR - It is not often I agree with Mike Foster but his weekly column Thursday, April 10, is one I do agree with.
So much that I would suggest it is reprinted, which is praise indeed from me, if he means what he wrote!
Immigration should be debated and we must realise our present system is little more than useless as we do need to make it more difficult for people to gain entry into our country and then only those who speak and understand English or are willing to learn and abide by our rules. Lawbreakers, in particular those who commit violent crimes, should be deported forthwith.
The punishment for murder should be death. Our soft alternative only fills our prisons so we are unable to deal correctly with those committing lesser crimes. There have been more murders and other violent crimes since our misguided MPs voted for the abolition of the death penalty.
