SIR - The loss of the free transport to special schools masterminded by the Conservatives would financially cripple my wife and I if we were forced to resort to public transport in September. Severely autistic Alex will not sit on a bus, and they are not regular or indeed cheap. A taxi from St Peter's housing estate to the special school would cost £6 to school and then £6 to return. That is £12 in the morning and, bearing in mind that we want our son home after school, that is £12 in the evening, adding up to £24 a day.
This adds up to £120 a week.
Neither of us drives and even though I have been learning to, I would be at work.
Do Tories sit around in clubs or something, hatching evil plans?
RICHARD LAWRENCE, Worcester.
