SIR - I read with interest the article about traffic wardens in the Worcester News.
I have been driving for more than 30 years and professionally for many of those and have noticed a general decline in peoples' attitudes to others on the road, but I suppose this is just an extension of the lack of respect and courtesy shown to each other anyway.
Everyone thinks they have a God-given right to park or drive where they want to and that road signs do not apply to them.
I witness this on a daily basis. We have the bylaws in place.
If only they were implemented regularly in the centre of town the fines could be halved and the council would still make money.
Perhaps, also, the odd smile from the warden would help smooth the way when dealing with the public.
