SIR - Who cares for the river? Not the Environment Agency, although it has the power', not British Waterways, although it has the equipment and the responsibility, and not the council although the bridge belongs to it.
Who cares about all the rubbish that will float down the river, block up drainage, cause obstruction, or eventually pollute the seas? No one, it would appear.
It reminds me of the old adage; nobody did what anybody could have done, because everybody thought somebody else would (or in this case should) do it.
Get your acts together and keep our rivers clean, healthy and productive for wildlife.
PETER ROBINSON, Worcester.
