SIR - So let's face it... people aren't going to get out of their cars to use the buses.
The bus fares from outlying areas are just outrageous. With only one bus company in the town, they can please themselves what they charge. It is in fact cheaper for two people sharing to use a taxi, and that's from door to door.
I think taxis should be allowed to use all the bus lanes in the city and taxis should have taxi ranks saying Warndon, Dines Green and all other outlying districts, because the buses are no real service after six o'clock. You could not plan to go to the theatre or the cinema or even go to church, because the buses are so infrequent in the evenings.
