SIR - Why is it I am not surprised that once again Mike Foster has picked up on the emotive issue of affordable homes?
In the run up to election time he is appearing in the local press more times than the windows on an advent calendar.
To build affordable homes you need several things - number one is land. Does the city council own acres of building land? No. The second requirement is money. Does the city council have a few quid surplus to build lots of houses at below market value? No.
The solution to this problem lies fairly and squarely with his incompetent Government, not with our cash-strapped city council.
Perhaps the affordable homes issue will be like the bus pass issue.
The Government said do it, but did not deliver the cash.
KEITH BURTON, Worcester.
