SIR - The anti-Europe squad certainly have a point in that the lefty EU notions of human rights, fair trade, employee and consumer protection are despised by many of us and apparently should have little place in the British way of life today.
However, foreigners' have been able to control our sovereignty long before the EU.
In the 20 years after 1945 our huge debts to the US and end of empire weakened our position considerably (remember Suez?).
Then, more recently, our mass sale of essential public utilities abroad, foreign owned media influences and the power of the multi-nationals make the EU threat look like a tea party.
