SIR - As somebody who lives in a busy avenue and does not have a driveway, I sometimes have trouble finding space to park my car. Often people park in front of my house, meaning that I have to look for a space further down the street. It amazes me when people block the spaces outside their houses with wheelie bins in an attempt to keep them for themselves. Since when is the road private property?
I pay road tax so I have as much legal right to park there as anybody else.
Apart from being selfish (and probably illegal), it obstructs the pavement, making it difficult for people with buggies or wheelchairs to pass.
If people really want their own private parking space, they should stop being so childish and buy or rent a house with a driveway.
