SIR - Mrs Burge makes a passionate plea for the return of Pershore's traditional Christmas lights.
As a town councillor, I welcome the expression of strong views on matters like this, but would also welcome the recognition that the council has been working hard to achieve their return.
The town clerk has described very clearly the efforts made and frustration within the council that we were not able to get lights across High Street in time for Christmas 2007.
The work to get them in place for 2008 starts with a meeting next month.
For my part I would be happy to see Mrs Burge join the working party of town councillors and help to achieve what we all want.
