SIR - The recent weather has highlighted a problem that affects many drivers on the roads in Worcestershire today - potholes.
I personally drive over 1,000 miles a month on the roads in Worcestershire and encounter numerous potholes.
I have suffered over £400 of damage to a vehicle due to a pothole and was told that the particular pothole had been subject to inspection and found to be OK and within guidelines!
Recently, I came across an pothole so big I nearly lost control of my car, I pulled over to check for damage and saw two cars pulled over both of which had major damage to their front wheels.
I contacted the Worcestershire Hub who were very helpful and sorted out the pothole repair with urgency. If our roads were properly maintained we wouldn't have these issues in the first place.
It now seems a cliche to say it, but we pay road tax (mine is £195 a year) and petrol prices are made up mostly of tax, yet we see very little of this being invested in road maintenance.
Reporting potholes to the council should be done through the Worcestershire Hub on: 01905 765765 or e-mail: www.worcestershirehub@worcestershire.gov.uk.
