SIR - Once more I have to agree with Stan Parr, re building new homes in Worcestershire. We all understand why we need these new homes - for immigrants.
200,000 social homes were given to immigrants last year. Five times more immigrants are given social housing than previously claimed. The Labour party has admitted this, just weeks after ministers insisted that only one per cent of social housing is given to immigrants.
This was an attempt to quell widespread fears that they are treated better by local authorities than people born in Britain.
Gordon Brown's plans to build these extra new homes will scar this country, have a negative effect on the character of the countryside and a significant negative impact on green belt land.
When will this government come to its senses and tell the EU that Britain is full?
JOHN WHITE, Evesham.
