SIR - Do county MPs deserve a pay rise of £6,000? (Worcester News, January 10).

Well, I don't think so! They should receive the same pay rise that pensioners receive and, with the cost of energy, it amounts to nothing.

In fact, we've got far too many MPs with most directives coming from Europe.

The House of Commons and the Lords should be downsized to half what it is now. MPs have got very good expense allowances and have no consideration for pensioners who get a little bit of this and a little bit of that, which is means tested.

How embarrassing for the pensioners who have worked hard all their lives and then have to put up with this nonsense. So, I say pensioners should have a decent rise way before any MP has an increase.
