SIR - I read, with some dismay (Worcester News, January 5) that: "It's twelfth night tomorrow".
This is not the case, the night of January 5 is twelfth night.
It is an unarguable fact that the night of December 25 is the first night of Christmas, therefore 12 nights from then is January 5.
It is also an incontravertable fact that January 6 is Epiphany, therefore not Christmas, so the night of January 6 cannot be the twelfth night of Christmas.
MARK WILSON, Worcester.
