SIR - I visited the cathedral prior to the BBC shows on television at Christmas to view how the BBC engineers performed with their labour and expertise. What a marvellous achievement with their lighting and cameras everywhere, showing off the cathedral to its best without the slightest item of their wonderful operations in vision on the screen during the shows.
Full praise to the BBC.
Then, after leaving the cathedral and coming out into the forecourt I viewed those magnificent trees.
What lovely specimens they are with their limbs exposed. It's only when trees like these beauties are not adorned with their masses of leaves that the real beauty of the branches can be admired.
PETE PARKER, Kempsey.
