SIR - I feel compelled to respond to the letter of Chris Lee (Letters, January 3).
If Chris had ventured out of his house over the festive period he would have seen many officers, myself included, on the beat.
This was through normal policing activity and during our successful operation Christmas Presence.
I am insulted by his comments. I, along with other police officers, special constables and police staff worked all hours in cold and wet weather, with a smile and merry Christmas' for all we met.
I did not have time to help wrap the presents - come on Chris, yet again your attempts at knocking your local police service are not only inaccurate but are damaging to the morale of hard working staff. I for one was there and I want to thank all of team south Worcestershire for their tremendous efforts over this period.
ANDREW SMITH, Geographic Commander, South Worcester.
