SIR - I read with interest the response by your readers concerning the theft of some artefacts by a young man who as a result spent time in prison over Christmas. This heinous crime should, of course, be punished by public flogging at least. Some of your readers could no doubt make a good case for hanging him if it was possible.

These self-righteous people make me sick. I wonder how many letters you have had concerning the flagrant attempt by the hunting fraternity to compromise constitutional law with their aggressive gatherings?

Hunting is illegal - get over it. The lad may have done wrong, but as usual the bleating masses make sure he is as compromised as possible.

PAUL WATSON, Worcester.
