SIR - I would like to take issue from a paragraph in the letter get on your bike instead of driving' (October 2) which read: "However old or young or fit or unfit you are there should be no excuses to getting on your bike". I would love to cycle but unfortunately I had a hip replacement in 1994 which went wrong. It is difficult to lift my leg up and my foot is pointing outwards making it almost impossible to pedal.
JOHN NORWOOD, Kidderminster.
