SIR - My doctor referred me to the Crowngate Physiotherapy Centre for treatment. The hard working staff there were embarrassed to have to tell me that, despite my acute pain, the first available appointment was December 21.
The centre is obviously understaffed, yet countless young people who qualified as physiotherapists in the summer are having to draw unemployment, as the Government will not employ them. What is the good of allowing people to train (at great expense) and then refusing to let them fill much needed places?
The physiotherapy service, which brings countless relief to thousands, is the Cinderella of the NHS and deserves better recognition from the Government.
Perhaps Gordon Brown could include it in his vision' for the future.
JEAN JESSOP, Worcester.
