SIR - I am delighted that the planning blight hanging over St John's is finally being lifted, so that businesses can move forward with confidence. However there is a large blot on the community's horizon.
The youth centre, an often closed but publicly- owned facility is to be replaced by a provision owned by Sainsbury. Why have we lost this public building without being informed? Although under used due to staffing cuts, it was under public control and this will no longer be the case. I hope built into any agreement made been council and supermarket there is a clause giving autonomy to our community to prevent withdrawal of this facility, as I fear St John's young people have been overlooked again.
Jenny Barnes, St John's Worcester.
