SIR - I would just like to say what a glorious tangle of wild flowers there is on a verge along the City Walls Road, Worcester.

Purples, yellows, whites, greens and some cultivated ones amid the rush of wild flowers add to the beauty and interest too. The fruits, lush little grapes of purple green and varying shades in between, give a Mediterranean feel, or are perhaps reminiscent of old paintings of fruit.

I can recommend a walk along here. There is a most gorgeous many-branched thistle for those of Scottish-inclination, and for those of us who just like nature to run rampant.

GILL HAYWARD, Worcester.
