SIR - My faith in the NHS is restored.
I was made redundant at 60 years of age from Kidderminster and District Hospital when the NHS trust was formed.
I was a maintenance supervisor in the estates department and after 15 years it was a great shock. Later, the hospital was closed and its staff moved to work at the new Worcester hospital - another shock.
However, having had a heart attack recently I was admitted to the medical assessment unit and then to the cardiology ward for five and a half days at Worcestershire Royal Hospital and later transferred to Wolverhampton.
I had wonderful nursing and kindness from all the doctors, hospital staff and the ambulance service.
I wish to thank all of you dedicated people with all my heart for your commitment to patients' needs. All the very best for the future.
CYRIL JAMES HUBBLE, Stourport-on-Severn.
