SIR - We were in Ledbury recently and looking forward, as always, to buying a selection of cakes from the Abbey Bakery, which for years was housed in the historic black and white building in the centre of the town.
To our amazement it has gone. Why? Where has this wonderful bakery gone?
What a great shame. As well as getting bakery goods you couldn't buy from anywhere else locally, the service was always friendly and old-fashioned.
It seems we are now resigned to purchasing our cakes via mail order.
